My Morning Skincare Routine | The Ordinary, Bondi Sands, and Beauty Pie

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Foaming Face Wash

My go-to skincare routine for morning and afternoon activities. Featuring my favourite SPF, the best vitamin C serum, and The Ordinary.

Choosing skincare products and setting up your failsafe skin care routine steps can be a minefield. I’ve used a lot of stuff over the years, most of which has sent my skincare routine into a negative spiral. You know when the über expensive promised goods just don’t deliver? Thankfully however, I think I’ve finally cracked skincare this year.

In general, I have combination skin, sensitive skin, and definitely dehydrated skin. When I’m looking for products then, my main requirements are:

  • Gentle skincare products with (often) natural ingredients that aren’t going to damage.
  • Dramatic hydrating skincare products.
  • Skincare heroes which have the ability to deal with my hormonal congestion and excess sebum.

I’ve got a list of demands, but my current seven step morning skincare routine seems to be keeping up the pace. My face is brighter than ever, my excess sebum is being controlled, and I can physically feel my new SPF is doing wonders

Below is the spring morning skincare routine that I’m currently swearing by.

Cleanser

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Gentle Foamy Face Wash

The feeling of truly clean skin is one I’d been chasing forever. That was until I met the Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Gentle Foamy Face Wash. If you love a good bubble up, have sensitive skin, and want a foaming cleanser that won’t leave you parched, then this Beauty Pie cleanser is the answer.

The Beauty Pie UK face wash is derived from gentle amino acids and features moisturising apple and raspberry fruit extracts, as well as exfoliating yogurt filtrate. It’s zingy while being deep cleansing. The product produces a satisfying high lather without drying your skin out, too.

This product is suitable for vegans and is cruelty free.

Hyaluronic Acid

Revolution Skincare 2% Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum

Don’t let the word ‘acid’ deter you from having hydrated skin. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally-occurring acid and skincare essential which binds to collagen and water molecules. The result being plump skin, increasing the moisture level on the surface of your face, and improving overall elasticity. In brief: it’s an anti-aging face lift in a bottle. Sounds good right?

I often flit between three hyaluronic acid serums. These are:

While each product features similar attributes, the Revolution Skincare hyaluronic acid is really having its moment in my routine. Binding water into the skin, the hyaluronic acid is lightweight, features a silky texture, and promotes glowing skin.

All three of these products (from Revolution Skincare, The Ordinary Skincare, and Beauty Pie) that I have listed are suitable for vegans are are cruelty free.

Vitamin C

Revolution Skincare Vitamin C Serum (12%)

For brightening up my complexion, smoothing skin, and banishing dark spots, it has to be Vitamin C. Right now, the Revolution Skincare Vitamin C Serum is a staple in my morning routine, as well as an intense post-swim rejuvenation.

The serum itself is strong (packed with 12.5% vitamin C). This means that it’s a product for intermediate Vitamin C users. However, its hands down the best vitamin C I’ve ever used. I don’t say that lightly.

The Revolution Skincare Vitamin C Serum is cruelty free and suitable for vegans.

Eye Cream

Avène Soothing Eye Contour Cream

Skincare guru, Caroline Hirons, said that eye cream is like marmite – you either love it or loath it. However I’ve been reaping the benefits of eye cream for a couple years now. I’m currently using the Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream which is perfect for super sensitive and dry skin.

I usually have four hydrating and moisturising eye creams on rotation My favourites are:

SPF

Bondi Sands Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ for Face.

The best SPF is one that is fast absorbing, doesn’t leave a white caste, and is SPF 50. There’s no budge on that SPF 50 as it’s going to save your skin in the long run. The best sunscreen I’ve used thus far is the Bondi Sands Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ for Face.

The Bondi Sands SPF is super rich and luxuriously thick. It doesn’t clog up pores and is the perfect base for make up or fake tan application after. Two fingers for your face, neck, and chest is definitely more than enough. I’m a big fan of this creamy creation.

This product is fragrance free, suitable for vegans, and cruelty free also.

Self Tan

Isle of Paradise Dark Self-Tanning Water

Saving your skin with SPF on the daily means that you’re less likely to get that glowing, golden tan of your dreams. That’s where Isle of Paradise comes in. An integral part of my skincare routine, a couple spritzes of the Isle of Paradise Dark Self-Tanning Water and I’m ready to roll.

The tanning water features a non-greasy, lightweight formula which doesn’t streak or stain. So yes, white T-shirts, crew necklines, and roll neck tops are still on the cards. If being a bronze goddess is your life-long goal, then you definitely need to take a trip to the Isle of Paradise.

This product is cruelty free and is suitable for vegans.
