Banger after banger, after banger – can the duo behind the house revolution, Disclosure, do no wrong? Following up their latest release (the regular DJ set-staple, ‘Bang That’); Howard and Guy Lawrence have teamed up with the soulful, Gregory Porter, to produce the futuristically groovy, ‘Holding On’.
Returning to their roots, Disclosure’s ‘Holding On’ is nothing less than a chilled out, soon-to-be dancefloor classic, sure to earn pride-of-place in any decent amateur DJ’s club set.
Opening with the powerful, elongated vocals of Porter – ‘Holding On’ gracefully dips its toes in the pool of house. Slowly, but surely, the tracks core elements (repetitive beats and electronic riffs) are mixed together, with the silky smooth vocal of Porter plastered effortlessly on top; creating a smorgasbord of contentment.
The relaxed drop adds to the chilled out vibe of this mighty Disclosure track, proving that this impeccable duo don’t even need to accommodate the stereotypical bass drop to make a splash. If you didn’t know: Disclosure are well on their way to be crowned the saviours and kings of house music: and ‘Holding On’ proves that to the greatest extent.
