Who: George Ezra
Where: BBC Introducing Stage secret set performance
When: 17:20 – 17:50
A festival wouldn’t be a miraculous success without a special ‘secret’ pop-up performance sprouting out of nowhere. Half an hour after his storming set in the King Tut’s Wah Wah tent, man-of-the-moment George Ezra found himself armed with a guitar walking out onto the BBC Introducing Stage.
The intimate venue brought out Ezra’s colourful charm and innovative flair in it’s entirety as he raced through a roaring six-song set. The soulful ‘Did You Hear The Rain?’ sent ripples of goosebumps throughout the entire crowd, while smash-hit ‘Budapest’ was played with such precision and carefulness that it was impossible not to fall head-over-heels in love with Ezra.
Short and sweet: that’s the name of George Ezra’s game and as his secret set came to a close there’s no doubt – if their was ever any doubt to begin with – this guy holds the future of music in his palms.
